Dr. Harvey grew up in Des Moines, IA. After completing his bachelors degree in agronomy at Iowa State University, he attended Texas A&M University where he received both his masters and PhD In Plant Breeding and Genetics. He is currently the Extension Sweet Potato Specialist for the state of Mississippi, where he conducts applied research on various aspects of sweet potato production and runs a sweet potato breeding program.
