Dr. Tara Smith

Dr. Smith’s Louisiana State University (LSU) AgCenter faculty page.

Tara Smith is currently serving as a Professor and Regional Director for the LSU AgCenter.  She also serves as the Research Coordinator of the LSU AgCenter Sweet Potato Research Station.  Tara received a PhD in Entomology from LSU in 2006.  She began serving as the statewide extension specialist for sweetpotato in Louisiana in 2006 and continues to be a primary point of contact for the industry in Louisiana and throughout the United States. Throughout her career Tara has conducted applied entomology research to address pressing IPM concerns facing the sweetpotato industry.
