Todd O’Neal

Todd O’Neal has been around sweet potatoes most of his life. He remembers the old one-row harvester and the farm crew stacking #1 potatoes in old bushel baskets in the potato house by hand. It is no surprise that this proximity led Todd towards a future career in the sweet potato industry.

Todd earned a B.S. in Agricultural Business, providing him the necessary background for his future success in agricultural management and business. Following the completion of his education, Todd worked as an Owner/Operator of his farm for 15 years, growing sweet potatoes. Furthermore, Todd worked in Agricultural Operations for ConAgra/Lamb Weston. Today, Todd works as the Farm Manager at Black Gold Farms located in Dehli, Louisiana. As the Farm Manager, Todd works to find solutions to troubling developments such as the sale price of sweet potatoes, rising input costs, and rising costs of labor in order to better sustain not only Black Gold Farms, but the Louisiana sweet potato industry. In addition to his career, Todd enjoys spending time with his two children as well as his wife of 21 years, Stacy.
